BACK TO OUR HOUSE ON OTTOBINE ROAD....
CONTINUED FROM YESTERDAY.... "Father slid to a stop at the end of the
shortcut road and the intersection of State Route 257...."
Father quick-looked left and right then spun gravel as he turned to the left
onto State Route 257 heading north.
Today there is a small building immediately to the right and left of the lane
where children wait for the school bus. Not far and also to the right is a Russian
Baptist Church, a building, maybe vacant now, that was once a veterinarian's
office, and to the right at about a 1/4 mile distance and down the lane of about
the same distance is the rescue squad for the region.
Of course, when Father was driving, there where only farms on both sides of
the road and as he continued to drive he, just then, surprised us once again....

California will decide on November 8 to pass or not to pass Proposition 64 for
recreational use.
MY OPINION
Northern California's Emerald Triangle's farmers who produce marijuana
fear that the passage of Proposition 64 will run them out of business with
taxes, regulations and big farms will surely take over.
It ain't fair. I know, it ain't ever going to be fair, but I've tried all my life to
"level the playing field," so to speak, and it's to late to quit trying now.
SPORTS
The Cleveland Indians baseball team lost to the Chicago Cubs 5-1 in the second
game of the baseball World Series. They are now tied at a game a piece (1-1),
will take a day off and then the series will move to Chicago for the next three
games.
I either team wins all three games in Chicago, the winner will be the World Series
Champions and finish at 4-1.

"Kurdish peshmerga fighter Germad Yihya stood on a small berm overlooking
a village where he said Islamic State militants had been defeated. A line of
trees 500 meters away from his position illustrated how he can't afford to be
complacent.
A day earlier, a suicide bomber had rushed out of the thick green vegetation
and killed five of his comrades after Kurdish forces had fought for 10 days to
gain the upper hand in Fadiliya, where 1,000 people remain trapped,
surrounded by roadside bombs.
Iraqi and Kurdish forces have cleared more than 30 villages like Fadiliya
during their offensive to drive Islamic State from its main Iraqi stronghold
of Mosul, in what is expected to be the biggest battle in Iraq for more than
a decade...."
....The jihadists were mostly in their 20s, Iraqis and also what Kurdish officials
