OUR HOUSE ON THOMPSON STREET ....

CONTINUED FROM YESTERDAY....

"I remember...." playing baseball in the field behind Dayton Elementary School.

And, maybe two years before that (1954) I remember playing keep away with

other classmates with a red bounce ball. We would divide up into two teams

and try to keep the ball on our team. It resembled tackle football, our shirts

torn and clothes dirty. I remember me volunteering to catch in a elementary

baseball game. No catcher's mask. Foul tip and broken nose. Mother took me

to the ER at the Rockingham Memorial Hospital to get it set. Pain.

And I'm remembering not to remember anything from my past that will make

me feel sad....

TO BE CONTINUED....

RAMBLINGS

I've been on ship, boat, barge or canoe maybe once each in my life.

The ship was the troop ship mentioned above.

The boat was a charter off the California coast fishing for Bonita.

The barge was when Uncle Lester, Aunt Bea, Aunt Ruth, Mother and I went on

tour bus to the Potomac River near the Atlantic Ocean I told you about.

The canoe was when my two oldest grand kids, Kayla and Hunter, and I, went

for a canoe ride in a small stream in the downtown park in Omaha, Nebraska.

I got sea sick in the Pacific Ocean twice, once on the troop ship and once on the

boat. The barge was in the calm waters, at the time, of the the Potomac River.

I did not get sick.

The canoe ride was in the gentle moving waters of the stream. I did not get sick.

Maybe you have to be on the sea (the Pacific is a sea, isn't it?) to get sea sick?

Conclusion:

About 71% of the Earths surface is covered by water. The amount of land

is 29%.  The oceans hold about 96.5% of all Earths water. The rest is in lakes,

streams, mud puddles, wells, toilets, rivers, etc.

I live in northeast Ohio about 40 miles "as the crow flies" south of the freshwater

lake they call Lake Erie. Much too close and were're also hemmed in mostly by

the Ohio River on the east and south. Too much water, but I know God promised

to not destroy the earth again by flood, but I guess we'll need that water if God

decides to destroy the earth by fire.

But I'm going to stay from water except for drinking, toilet flushing, car washing,

flower beds and yard watering, dish washing and clothes washing, etc.

Besides that I don't need to be near water because of the watercraft experiences

I've mentioned (sea sick) and something else. I don't watch many movies, but I

did see the motion picture they called 'The Poseidon Adventure.'

(1)Google, what does inverting mean? Stop trying to confuse me and stop

trying to tell me what to say. Your job is to search, not talk. I'm the one that's

doing the talking.

You know I've been complaining a lot about Google lately and I'm going to

apologize to them right now. I just found out something. Google answers around

63,000 searches a second and 5,500,000,000 searches a day. Wow! Everyone in

the world must "Google it" and because they are so busy I'll stop complaining

about them, as of today.

 THE US PRESIDENT ELECT

*Final Presidential Election Results:

                                       Total votes          Percentage          Electoral

Donald Trump            59,588,436                 47.5                      279 (1)

Hillary Clinton           59,794,940                 47.7                       228

Gary Johnson               4,040,510                   3.0                           0
Libertarian Party

Jill Stein                         1,206,743                   1.0                           0
Green Party

(1) 270 electoral votes needed to win.

*If the outcome of the the election would have been based on the popular votes,

Clinton, of course, would have won and would have become the first woman

president of the United States. The democrats are clamoring to have it changed

to winning the presidency by popular vote. I'm quite sure that if Clinton would

have won, the democrats would be like the wind (under WEATHER) outside.

Silent.

If the democrats attempt to change from electoral votes to popular vote, they

will face an uphill battle. In the senate, 51 Republicans, 46 Democrats and 2

Independents. In the house, 239 Republicans and 193 Democrats.

*China is not happy with the President-elect's phone conversation with

Taiwanese President Tsai Ing-wen. Although Taiwan is a free and independent

country, China considers the small island nation to be one of their provinces.

Trump tweeted that the US sells millions of dollars of military equipment to

Taiwan, so why should we ignore them like we have doing for years afraid

of China's reaction.

China soon in my opinion will have another people's revolution. There are

only one of 6 nations that are communist in the world today (China, Cuba,

Laos, North Korea, and Vietnam) and the people of China, as well as those in

the other 5 nations will realize that westernization of all other countries makes

for a much better quality of life.

*The President-elect's choice of  Secretary of State seems to a constant news item.

Rudy Giuliani has fallen out of favor because of his constant camphaging for the

job and his ties with international business. Mitt Romney as been a harsh critic

and Republicans in the senate and the house and chosen cabinet members are in

turn critical of the possibility of Trump choosing Romney for the job.

Former CIA director David Petraeus is still being considered but you know of

the skeletons in his closet. I'll give you a two word hint. Bill Clinton.

A new face has appeared on the scene, former Republican Utah governor, Jon

Huntsman, he has served as ambassador to China and speaks Mandarin.

The President-elect will hold transition meetings on Monday in New York and

on Tuesday will continue his "thank you" tour in North Carolina.

*Maybe you thought this presidential election was down and dirty so to speak.

Well, think again. In the 1964 election between Barry Goldwater and Lyndon

Johnson, Johnson's people published some kids coloring books with Goldwater

dressed in Ku Klux Klan robes. I was working in Los Angeles at the time and only

one of a few that voted for Goldwater. His plan was to end the war in Vietnam

quickly by leveling Hanoi. If he would have won, a lot of those young soldiers

at that time who were killed in action would still be alive today.

"fish" (and any subsequent words) was ignored because we limit queries to 32

words. No results found for "Fish are a super food high in protein, omega 3,

Note: Come to think of it, I don't believe teeth are one of our senses.

Tue                 RAIN                                  40° 32°

The Weather Channel - Weather Underground - AccuWeather

Went out to the garage (2:02 AM 12/4/2016 EDT) for my 1st pot of coffee.

I went out to the American flag at the northeast border of the property to

check the wind direction. No wind. Silence. It is 38° with a humidity of 72%.

I use the dew point calculator (http://www.dpcalc.org/) that I used yesterday

and get dew point reading of 29%.

Out to the garage (3:55 AM 12/4/2016 EDT) again for my 2nd pot of coffee.

I'm still wearing shorts but I'm now wearing socks and shoes instead of going

barefooted. The cracks in my heels from going barefooted need my medical

attention. I'm putting Mupirocin Ointment 2% on and in the cracks and putting

socks on to keep the ointment from wearing off.

The weather is the same as above except for a slight wind from the southeast.

And no stars in the Heavens again for about 10 days in a row.

And my special breakfast sandwich of the morning, King Oscar double-layer

of course. The label says the can contains from 12 to 22 sardines. I count 17

and only their heads are decapitated.

I told you before that for some reason I'm sleeping less than usual.

About 4 and 1/2 to 5 instead of my needed 6. So, I lay down on my bed at

(5:21 AM 12/4/2016 EDT) and it didn't take me long to go to sleep. I woke up

at (6:23 AM 12/4/2016 EDT) so that should do for today.  But a 1 hours sleep plus the

maybe 4 and 1/2  I got last night adds up to 5 and 1/2, so I might changed my mind

again and lay back down for a while.

I did lay back down for a while (6:55 AM 12/4/2016 EDT) and I woke up at

(7:57 AM 12/4/2016 EDT). My total now is 6 and 1/2 and I'm good for the day.

I went back out to garage (3:13 PM 12/4/2016 EDT) after watching two

professional football games that were boring because the scores were not

close at all. The temperature has not changed much at 41°, but the wind is

blowing with more energy from the east with a guesstimated wind chill of 35°.

The humidity has dropped a bit from 72% this morning to 70% right now.

So far there has been no rain or snow that was forecasted and the daytime

temperature seems to hover around  40° plus or minus 1° like it has for the

last four days or so.
