I'm kind of at a loss for words today, so I just relate to you some antidotes from

from Father and Mother's life along with mine and my brothers and sister

(Roland, Nancy and Jerry in that order of birth) either here at the the

Thompson Street and or other places we might have lived in the town of

And I might be telling lies about all of this just to entertain you all, but I know

that only God and I will surely know the truth.

I told you about me leaving home and hitch-hiking after after my 2nd year of

college. Well, here is what I think happened when I told Father and Mother I

was leaving. Father was upset, he wanting all of us kids close to the house.

Like, maybe in numbered or named chairs in the front yard with all of us kids

setting in them. And when Father came home from work and and was given

no reasonable explanation why 1 or more chairs were empty, he was not happy.

I believe I'm over doing it a little, but Father was a homebody and wanted us

kids to be too, but Mother was the exact opposite.

So. I had $20 in my pocket and set off hitch-hiking. I saw tears in my Father's

eyes, but Mother was standing behind him and waving and saying and

praying to herself, "have a great adventure, son, and if you don't come back we

still have 3 left."....

I told you a few days ago about my swollen feet. The swelling is receding.

Dr. Kwok said my feet would be back to normal in about 7 days and I believe

today is day 6. He gave me a prescription for 14 days so my feet should be

back to normal by then.

Note: I've said this before but I'll say it again to you and to me to keep our

memories fresh: When I speak of God I referring to all of the religions of the

world's God.

Weather for Smithville, Ohio

Today             CLOUDY                        38° 25°

Thu                MOSTLY_CLOUDY      28° 21°

Fri                  CLOUDY                         32° 19°

The Weather Channel - Weather Underground - AccuWeather

Out to the garage (2:59 AM 12/7/2016 EDT) for my 1st pot of coffee. Humidity

is 77% with a temperature of 40° and no wind to speak of.  Using the dew point

calculator at, I get a reading of 33%.

It's Pearl Harbor Day and I need to remember to place my 12 extra smaller

flags in the front yard when it gets to be daylight.

Out to the garage (4:29 AM 12/7/2016 EDT) for my 2nd pot of Folgers. Wind has

decided to breath again with a guesstimated wind chill of 37°. Everything else

weather wise has remained the same.

There's talk of lake (Lake Erie) affect snow from the weather forcasters in the

next few days. I hate to see it. I've seen it for 74 years, I think that's long enough.

I just made (5:01 AM 12/7/2016 EDT) my breakfast sandwich. Kippered Herring.

I told you the last time that the front of the wrapper said boneless but the back

of the wrapper says calcium 8%. They must do that just in case they missed

some bones.

I did place the small American flags I have up in front of the house. There is a

business in the area which charges residents and businesses to place a full

size American flag in their front yard or in front of their business. None today.

I don't believe that most Americans are aware of this important day to veterans

and loyal Americans that is Pearl Harbor Day.
