HEALTH
Just got back (11:28 AM 12/16/2016 EDT) from the Cleveland Clinic Wooster.
I told you yesterday that I was supposed to be there and I was and I was early.
My brother, Roland and I, require ourselves to always be early. Maybe it was
because of our time in the military or just maybe just a part of our growning up.
I was first checked in by a friendly woman who couldn't hardly believe that the
stress test doctor didn't have any pre-restrictions before the stress test like no
smoking. no caffine, no food, no water, no liquor etc.
The nurse and the technician didn't know it either. I guess we all learned
something today and the doctor has surely learned to keep some secrets.
I have had at least two stress tests before this with good test results on both
and today wasn't any different, although I ain't use to jogging and I'm sure
I'll be a little leg sore tomorrow. The nurse was a little down today, maybe
because of a slight cold or flu, but the nurse looks in excellent shape and said
she/he had a breakfast that was spinach, eggs and whole wheat toast. Can't do
much better than that unless you're having a wild caught King Oscar sardine
and a product of Poland sandwich.
The technician was a delightful person, all friendly and such and sonar ed (I
don't know if that is the right term. I certainly ain't no medical expert. Give me
a break), my heart to check for any defects.
The doctor, who I over heard, was a runner and I was immediately envious
because I use to run about 5 miles per day to stay in shape for the Army
Physical Fitness test. If I was still running, I would have broken the treadmill.
The doctor acted like a cheerleader, encouraging me and then started
counting down the seconds until the finish: 20 seconds, 15 seconds,
10 seconds, 5 seconds, 4 seconds, 3 seconds, 2 seconds, 1 seconds and then
I collapsed to the floor. No, that's a lie.
They moved me to the bed to check my vitals and my heart. Everything was
OK they said and the nurse handed me several cheap (probably bought at
Walmart) wash cloths to wash off the gel that the nurse had applied to my
body before placing the nodes ( I don't know what else to call them} on my
body. The nurse then said I was free to go.
I said goodbye to everyone in the office and everyone waved back and us
both wishing each other a Merry Christmas.
I went out to the lobby where the friendly and smiling person checked me in
and inquired about sending today's results to the Cleveland Main Campus in
Cleveland and to my regular doctor, Dr. Kwok. The young woman said that
that would be done.
All in all, I'd say that this was a wonderful experience mainly because of the
smiling and friendly faces and you all know that I like that.

WEATHER
Weather for Smithville, Ohio
Today CLOUDY 21° 19°
Sat RAIN 45° 25°
Sun PARTLY_CLOUDY 25° 7°
Mon SUNNY 23° 9°
The Weather Channel - Weather Underground - AccuWeather
Just went outside (2:17 PM 12/16/2016 EDT) to check the weather. Temperature
is 20° , humidity is 60% and the wind is blowing in from the south and slightly
east at about 15 mph. Using the online calculators at http://www.dpcalc.org and
http://www.onlineconversion.com., I get a wind chill of 6.22° and a dew point
of 8%.
At this same time I'm fixing my first sardine sandwich of the day. They're the
Orleans I buy from Rite Aid.
When I first got back (11:28 AM 12/16/2016 EDT) from having my stress test, I
ate those food items in my mini-fridge that I could eat without my false teeth.
There is a place in my left lower jaw that gets sore if I chew too much on that
lower side with my false teeth installed. I phoned yesterday to Affordable
Dentures on Arlington Avenue in Akron for an appointment for Bill and I to get
a new set of falsies. I'll get the cheap full set for about $475. Should last me a
good 5 to 6 years or more if I stay at the same weight.
