Large green buses loaded with Syrian refugees is awaiting a halt to the fighting
between those loyal to Assad and those who seek to replace the longstanding
dictator. An agreement has been reached, but Red Cross says sporadic fighting
contines and is unsafe, at the present, to proceed from the horrors of war in
Aleppo. Aleppo is mainly in the control of Assad forces with minor resistance
from rebel forces.
It was just announced that Russia will hold a meeting in 10 days of the major
players in this 6 year old Syrian war, but, of course, that will not help the
present situation.
Maybe a prayer from you and I will help.

HEALTH
*The company (Mylan) that caused an uproar over increasing their price to $600
for their EpiPen now say that will sell a generic version for $300. The pen is used
to counter serious reactions from nuts, bee stings, etc. One of the most trouble-
some aspects of the initial cost of $600 was that executive pay at Mylan went
up 600%. Mylan now buys the EpiPen from Pfizer for $34.50 a pen.
MY OPINION
*For those who are without proper health insurance and not wealthy, $300 is still
a huge sum to pay. $34.50 is not a huge sum to pay by Mylan buying the EpiPen
from Pfizer. I see no reason why Mylan cannot get rid of some of those overpaid
executives and further reduce the price of the EpiPen to $100 to $150.
*I'm leg sore as a result of that stress test I took yesterday. I should be back to
normal in a few days. I keep thinking about the doctor yesterday who jogs.
I told you I was envious and I'm not usually envious of anyone. I believe I'll start
to try and jog again after the snow melts. That was one of my favorite things to
do.

THE US PRESIDENT ELECT
*Dick Cheney, who was a close confidant to President George W. Bush, is now
becoming a key adviser to President-elect Trump.
*The President-elect has selected another South Carolina lawmaker to be part
of his administration. South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley was previously
chosen to be the ambassador to the United Nations and now Trump has picked
South Carolina Republican U.S. Representative Mick Mulvaney to be the head
of the White House Office of Management and Budget.
*Trump wants to move American embassy in Israel Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
*The FBI and CIA have found evidence that Russia did hack into the U.S. election
process to atempt to influence the presidential election.
Russia in response has said prove it.
*The President-elect will speak shortly (4:06 PM 12/17/2016 EDT) to his
supporters in Mobile, Alabama. This will be his last stop on his thank you tour.
MY OPINION
President-elect Trump seems to be treating China rather badly in comparison
to Russia or other nations. He has, not officially, recognized Taiwan and says the
Chinese have hurt the U. S. by making products cheaply outdoing American
companies. I totally agree. A bigger tariff would allow products made in China
to be made in American again. Trump is for American business and not China's
businesses. It's about time. Finally a President who will stand up to China.
Let China "sink or swim" on its own. They've got the whole South China Sea to
"sink or swim" in.

Sun CLOUDY 26° 5°
Mon PARTLY_CLOUDY 21° 7°
Tue SUNNY 34° 19°
The Weather Channel - Weather Underground - AccuWeather
Just went out (5:29 AM 12/17/2016 EDT) on the back windowed in deck. Couldn't
get east door open because of last night's freezing rain that they were calling
for so I'll to wait for a while to check the temperature, humidity, and wind.
I'm going to go ahead and fix my breakfast sandwich now. Orleans sardines
will be my special treat for this morning.
I forgot to tell you yesterday that I went to Walmart after my doctor's
appointment and picked some things that I needed. The main things were
Roland mussels smoked in oil, Vita wild herring in wine sauce, blackberries,
two slicing tomatoes, index cards and some small glass jars of fruit.
Just typing about the mussels aroused my hunger so I just now had two spoon-
fulls. All the food items I mentioned can be eaten without installing my false
teeth. I don't know if "installing" is the right word to use in the previous
sentence, but I'm the one doing the typing and you are just doing the reading.
So there.
I took one of my shoes and beat on the door at the bottom that goes outside
from the windowed deck. I finally got the door (8:51 AM 12/17/2016 EDT)
loose to be faced with weather of freezing ice raining down from the sky. I
manage to get to my weather guage that was just around to the right of the
door. The temperature was 32°, the humidity was 84% and the American
flag was blowing from the south and slightly east at about 5 mph. Using
the online calculators at http://www.dpcalc.org and
http://www.onlineconversion.com., I get a wind chill of 27.08° and a dew point
of 28%.
I almost forgot to tell you that I used that slicing tomato that I bought at Walmart
yesterday to make a tomato sandwich with a topping of salmon and I don't
believe I could have had anything more delicious.
