*The agreement between opposing factions in the Syrian war has finally
allowed refugees on buses and other vehicles to escape from Aleppo and
nearby villages from rebel held areas to the western part of Aleppo. A total
of over 16,000 civilians, including the wounded, have been evacuated so far.
The recapture of Aleppo from rebel forces by Assad's loyalist's is his greatest
victory so far, but part of Aleppo still remains in rebel hands, as well as other
parts of Syria.
A vote in the security council of the United Nations will be held to allow UN
staff to monitor the remaining evacuations. It is a result of a compromise between
Russia and France.
The war in Syria is being fought between Assad's military and backed by Russia,
Iran and the Shiite Muslims and the rebels backed by Turkey, the U.S., and the
Sunni kingdoms in the middle east.
THE LATEST
The Russian Ambassador to Turkey, Andrei Karlov, was at first reported seriously
wounded, but later died from a shot to the back by a Turkish policeman.
'Don't Forget Aleppo' the shooter shouted out as his shots injured others at the
scene. The gunman was later shot and killed by the Turkish security forces.
This assassination adds to the complications of the war in Syria that was
described in some detail above.

HEALTH
I'm thankful everyday for my good health. I can bach, balk, bloc, block, bock,
calk, caulk, chalk, chock, clock, cock, crock, doc, dock, floc, flock, frock, gawk,
hawk, hoc, hock, jock, knock, lock, locke, mach, mock, pock, rock, schlock,
shock, smock, sock, squawk, stalk, stock, talk, walk, wok and yak.
Can you do all of that?
And you know I can stand which don't rhyme with any of the above. I standing
here right now typing this story of today on my computer which is on top of the
dresser and at the same time I'm exercising my arms and legs.
SPORTS
The San Francisco 49'ers professional football team lost to the Atlanta
Falcons, 41-13 to remain next to last in the NFL (National Football League)
at 1 win, 13 losses just ahead of the Cleveland Browns whose perfect record
is 0 wins and 14 losses. There are 2 games left to play this season, let's see if
the mighty Browns maintain their perfect record at 0 wins and 16 losses for
the season.

LITTLE KNOWN FACTS
From mentalfloss.com
* "Bear Bryant (famous college football coach at Alabama) was once asked to
contribute $10 to help pay for a sportswriter's funeral. According to legend,
he said, "Here's a twenty, bury two.""
*"Kool-Aid was originally marketed as "Fruit Smack.""
* "Only female mosquitoes will bite you."
*"In 1961, Martha Stewart was selected as one of Glamour magazine;s "Ten Best-
Dressed College Girls.""
And Martha Stewart went from a best dressed college girl to dressed in the
one color orange of a prison uniform. Quite a reversal of fortunes I would say.
MY TAKE ON MOSQUITOES
I know a lot about mosquitoes and I knew that only female mosquitoes bite you.
I've been plagued all my life with mosquito bites. The bite results in a welt,
itches and lasts for several days. Mosquitoes prefer dark places and venture
no further distance than 300 feet from their home. They will not leave their nest
in wind, rain or bright sunlight. I just called the mosquitoes' home a nest and
that's not the right term. I looked on the internet and the results were that they
live in dirt. But I know that's not completely true either. It has to be
wet/swampy dirt. From what I've just typed, I hope you've learned a little bit
about that parasite that's called a mosquito.
But another thing that I don't understand, if winter weather kills the mosquito,
like the fly, how do they reappear in Spring? Maybe they're like the
perennials that I planted in the flower beds this past Spring, Summer and Fall,
they just have to hibernate for a while before waking to a bright new season?

Talking about putting the "cart before the horse" pretty well sums that up.

Just went outside (7:27 AM 12/19/2016 EDT) to take the trash containers to the
front near the road for Waste Management to pick up and to take an outgoing
letter to the mailbox. The temperature was 9°, humidity 70% and the wind is
almost completely silent blowing at maybe 2 mph. Using the online calculators at
http://www.dpcalc.org and http://www.onlineconversion.com., I get a wind
chill of 5.69° and a dew point of 1%.
Haven't eaten so far this morning (9:44 AM 12/19/2016 EDT), so I think I'll have
Orleans sardine sandwich. That should "fit the bill" so to speak. And I just
remembered that I haven't taken my morning pills. If you're taking that
Miracle pill of the Century, turmeric curcumin, that I recommended, make
sure you continue to do so. I believe, at least for right now, we have something
like the "fountain of youth" in an orange capsule.
Went out to the garage (11:07 AM 12/19/2016 EDT) to get my last loaf of whole
wheat bread from the refrigerator. The temperature is now 28° and the
humidity is 78% and the wind is refusing to blow. Quite an upturn from earlier
this morning.
