HEALTH
*I just finished shaving (10:07 AM 12/20/2016 EDT). I don't know why I'm typing
this under HEALTH? Is it healthy to shave or not?
1. If you cut yourself badly enough, you might bleed to death.
2. If you're an Amish, you are required to grow a beard if your married. If you
ain't married you have to shave.
3. If you are in the U.S. Armed Forces, you must be clean-shaven.
4. If my face has too much beard growth, I can't sleep on my stomach because
it itches.
5. My long hair which is an inch down past my shoulders has no relationship to
my beard growth.
6. Did Sampson in the Bible loose his strength when his woman cut off both
his long hair and his beard?
7. Is there some relationship between me shaving my face every 3 days and
me having more or less energy?
8. Does eating a lot of fish and other good food cause my hair to remain brown
and my beard and mustache to remain grey?
9. If I would shave my beard and my mustache, would I look a lot younger?
10. Am I just running my mouth and not saying nothing?
Yes, Forrest, you are.

HOW DOES YOUR GARDEN GROW?
*In Egypt a man is growing lettuce in the desert and the process (hydroponics)
he says uses 90% less water. Because of vanishing farmland due both to legal
and illegal construction, which he says is the reason he must move his crops to
the desert. His company, Egyptian Hydrofarms, places plants in pipes then
pumps water with nutrients through the pipes. The owner says that he's only
borrowing from an idea from long ago, perhaps from the time of the Pharaohs.

THE US PRESIDENT ELECT
*President-elect Donald Trump will become the 45th president of the United
States. He surpassed the 270 electoral votes needed to confirm his win over
Hillary Clinton. In some of the state capitols, Clinton supporters were hoping
for a reversal to the promised electoral votes for Trump, but this never came
about.
Clinton as you know won the popular vote, but If you would take into account
an always liberal and Hollywood worshiping populace that makes up the state
of California and the 4.3 million votes or 61.5% she received and subtract
that 4.3 million from her popular vote total of 65,788,583 to get 61,488,583, then
Trump would have won the popular total votes with 62,955,363.
This, I believe, is at least 1 reason for keeping the Electoral College. We do not
want in our "wildest nightmares", Hollywood electing the President of the United
States.
What a "comedy of errors" that would be.

I guess that old saying that says "if at first you don't succeed, try, try again" is
right on target. I do believe that means to try 3 times.

Just went outside (8:38 AM 12/20/2016 EDT) to check the weather. The
temperature is 13°, the humidity is 73% and the wind is slowly blowing in from the
south at about 5 mph. Using the online calculators at http://www.dpcalc.org and
http://www.onlineconversion.com., I get a wind chill of 4.76° and a dew
point of 6%.
Went outside (9:36 AM 12/20/2016 EDT) again to take some outgoing letters to the
mailbox. The weather is much the same except the sun is showing its' brilliance
and I hope warming this part of the earth at least a little. I'm going to now have
my breakfast sandwich of the day, Orleans sardines, what a treat.
I just got back (12:31 PM 12/20/2016 EDT) from Rite Aid in Orrville where I
picked up a prescription. The pharmacy calls here when a prescription is
ready giving the the person's name and the first two letters of the prescription. I
thought they said Mu when they called which would have been the creme that
I apply to the cracks in my heels from going barefooted, but they must have
said Me because the prescription was Metoprolol which I call Marco Polo so I
can remember it.
I also bought 4 cans of Orleans sardines ($1 a can if you remember), a box of
large stick pretzels for 99 cents and a 2017 Farmers' Almanac for $6.99. At the
top of the front cover they say "Since 1818", so the almanac has been published
for 199 years. It goes on to say about 3 inches from the top that the "Fourth of
July, the 241st year of Independence of the United States."
On the first few pages of the almanac it says to call 811 before digging anywhere
because some wires, pipes, people, etc., or buried less than 12 inches deep.
