MY STAY AT THE SENTARA ROCKINGHAM MEMORIAL HOSPITAL

CONTINUED FROM YESTERDAY....

"went downstairs to the cafeteria to get something to eat...."

The salad bar at this hospital cafeteria was always a favorite of mine.

I was never a patient at this new hospital but was a patient at the old hospital

when it was called Rockingham Memorial Hospital. I was born there, I was a

patient when I had mononucleosis, when I had two pilonidal cyst operations and

I was there for a non-emergency heart problem. James Madison University

has since purchased the old hospital as well as a lot of other buildings in

Harrisonburg.

I got a salad, no drink, paid for it at the cash registrar and walked and sit down

at a vacant table choosing a chair that looked over the other people in the

cafeteria at that time. I like observing human behavior and being alone,

without distractions, I can devote my full attention to doing just that. I can

usually tell from 74 years of experience who is sad, joyful, disgusted, angry,

fearful, are surprised, or are anticipating something, etc. And I like to be very,

very friendly to people, but, of course, you know that by now....

TO BE CONTINUED....

WORLD

*The fastest animal alive on land is now headed toward oblivion. Reports say

that there are only a little over 7,000 Cheetahs alive in the wild.

Other fast animals on land, including the Cheetah, in the sky and the oceans:

From Wikimedia:

Peregrine Falcon, Frigate Bird, Sail Fish, Cheetah, Pronghorn Antelope, Blue

Wildebeest, Lion and Thomson's Gazelle.

The Thomson's Gazelle can run from 50 to 60 mph while the world's fastest

human, Usain Bolt, can only run at 27.44 miles per hour!

*China plans to land probes on the dark side of the moon by 2020.

*North Korean defector says that they will have nuclear weapons within a year.

HEALTH

*Once on opposing sides, Trump and anti-abortionists, are now as one and the

pro-life groups are hoping for some quick action from the new President after

he takes office. He has chosen several cabinet members who are Pro-life which

the anti-abortionists believe indicate his present stance.

There are some changes that the President-elect can make on his own:

1. Deleting the requirement that insurance plans of religious organizations be

required to cover contraception.

2. Changes that would allow less funding to Planned Parenthood.

3. Stopping aid to other countries for abortions.

*As I told you all before that I am overweight, but not obese. According to the

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, beside spending about $33,000,000

a year on efforts to loose weight, 2/3rd s of Americans remain overweight or are

obese. About 1 in 6 or 45 million Americans go a diet each year most of them

returning back to their same way eating.

Jimmy Fleming, co-founder of HealthWage, an organization that helps create

weight programs for corporations and other groups says there are 5 key

elements in loosing weight without dieting:

1. Tell everyone that your planning to loose weight. I don't know many people,

but I can tell the ones I do know.

2. Get a buddy or friend to who would like to loose weight like yourself. I don't

have any friends or buddies so that's out.

3. Set specific goals. I can do that too.

4. Set this as your only goal while your loosing weight. I can't do this. I have

many personalities and each personality has a different goal.

5. Use money or other rewards for loosing weight and the opposite, take away

money or other for gaining weight. I don't think this would work for me because

I could easily cheat knowing that God and I are the only ones that know about it.

So, I can follow only 2 out 5. I guess I'll just have to go on a real diet.

UNITED STATES

*Ugly encounters with the police have created an atmosphere of mistrust

and sometimes large payouts are made to the victims of these confrontations.

MY OPINION

I have had good, bad and ugly encounters with police during my lifetime.

The good:

1. Just recently in returning from Las Vegas to Ohio, a police officer gave me

directions. This can be seen and heard on a YouTube video of mine.

2. Police officers in Broadway and Harrisonburg, Virginia gave me advice

on at least 4 occasions.

3. Sheriff deputy's assisted me (with the exception of number 2 under bad)

at least 3 times at the Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg,

Virginia including the time I was arrested, escorted in, me calling military

cadence, and later sent to the 5th floor.

The bad:

1. Bad situation, but the officer was lenient. I was arrested in Woodstock,

Virginia. Padded down and handcuffed.

2. At my transfer at the county line from Shenandoah County back to

Rockingham County, I was padded down and re-handcuffed again by a

sheriff's deputy who made the handcuffs much tighter and placed me in the

back seat with very little room. It hurt.

3. When I was probably about 18-20 years old a Virginia State Trooper stopped

me for violation of highway markings. He said that I was speeding too, but only

fined me for crossing over a double line. The trooper wasn't the bad part but

the fine was.

4. Omaha, Nebraska. I always use to go for a dark early morning walk to a

convenience store to buy a cup of coffee. One morning I was surprised by sirens

and flashing lights of a patrol car. The first officer out immediately accused

me of attempting to break into the house behind me then went to search the

perimeter of the house. The second officer ask for my ID. He could tell I was

visible upset. This second officer tried to apologize in the policeman's way of

apologizing, but that was not quite enough for me.

5. I was threatened by a Mexican police officer in Tijuana, Mexico and

ordered to go back north to the US.

The ugly: In time this event will be discussed under MY STAY AT THE SENTARA

ROCKINGHAM MEMORIAL HOSPITAL from above.

MY OPINION

One of my favorite neices has a birthday. Her name is Holly (all my sister's kids

where named after plant life) and she ain't even half my age. She uses Facebook

to advertise her birthday. She is 35 years old today and I believe that tomorrow,

December 28, she will start to advertise her 36th birthday again which is a long

year from tomorrow.

POLITICS

*President Obama said that if he were allowed to run for a third term, he would

have beaten Trump. Trump's response: "no way."

*The President-elect referred to the United Nations as a social club, getting

nothing accomplished.

*Trump has more than 100 judicial vacancies to fill which will move the court

system to the right.

*The President-elect's proposed tax cuts could up earnings by 20% next year.

*Trump announced today that Thomas Bossert is his pick as top counter-terrorism

chief.

*"Morning Joe" host Joe Scarborough said Monday that in Trump's inauguration

he should address concerns that his presidency is not "only for angry white men."

*Democrats are building a ground swell to defeat everything Trump wants to

accomplish.

MY OPINION

I believe that the Democrats are not against Trump, so to speak, they just want

revenge because of Hillary Clinton's loss to him.

The Weather Channel - Weather Underground - AccuWeather

Well, yesterday's temperature of around 60° really spoiled me and its now back

to the same old thing: COLD, but I've experienced wind chills of - 45° in Omaha,

Nebraska and the Republic of South Korea, so compared to that, I'm sure I'll

survive.

I just got back from outside (7:37 AM 12/27/2016 EDT) to check the weather

guage. This is about the time that it starts to get daylight. The temperature is 35°,

the humidity is 73% and the wind is blowing in from the west at a slow 3 mph.

Using the online calculators at:

http://www.dpcalc.org and http://www.onlineconversion.com., I get a wind chill

of 32.71° and a dew point of 27%.

The sun is starting to show its face (8:03 AM 12/27/2016 EDT). And now the sun is

hiding behind the clouds (11:46 AM 12/27/2016 EDT).

I'm hungry. Looks like I'm always hungry. (1:01 PM 12/27/2016 EDT) I'm having

Chicken of the Sea fancy smoked oysters in cottonseed oil. Earlier my 1st

sandwich of this day was a Orleans sardines on whole wheat bread with a whisper

of mustard.
