MY STAY AT THE SENTARA ROCKINGHAM MEMORIAL HOSPITAL
CONTINUED FROM YESTERDAY....
I proceeded through the emergency room exit doors, saying thanks to those
who worked there along the way. I did not know whether to turn left or right
for the closes distance to Mother's Honda, so I just turned left. I then saw a
young man who must have been coming to work and I ask him for the shortest
distance to the front entrance to the hospital. He pointed to the way I was going,
but just then he received a phone call on his cellular and then told me to go the
opposite direction. The asphalt of the streets and parking lot were still covered
in spots with ice and snow from the day before and I had to be careful not to
fall. I was almost dancing the dance of a ballerina, dancing from one dry spot to
the next and at the same wondering if the head of security was watching, hoping
that I might fall....

*On the TV news last night it showed New Years celebrations from around the
world. I was hoping that there would be no terrorist attacks, but I saw on the
online news this morning that a gunman shot and killed 35 people in an Istanbul,
Turkey nightclub with many more wounded. As of this time
(5:31 AM 1/1/2017 EDT) no one has claimed responsibility for this attack.
Update: (9:36 AM 1/1/2017 EDT). Four of the injured have died. Thirty-nine
people have now died with 69 wounded by a lone gunman who is still on the
loose.
*I've received a beautiful postcard from someone in China and received this
email from postcrossing.com:

China
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
"China is a populous nation in East Asia whose vast landscape encompasses
grassland, desert, mountains, lakes, rivers and more than 14,000km of
coastline. Capital Beijing mixes modern architecture with historic sites such
as the Forbidden City palace complex and Tiananmen Square. Shanghai is a
skyscraper-studded global financial center. The iconic Great Wall of China
runs east-west across the country's north.
Capital: Beijing
Population: 1.357 billion (2013) World Bank
President: Xi Jinping
GDP per capita: 6,807.43 USD (2013) World Bank
Currency: Renminbi
Gross domestic product: 9.24 trillion USD (2013) World Bank."
*China has the world's largest population, but India is estimated to be #1 in
population by the year 2050. Like us old folks are going to live that long. Let's
see, I'd be about 108 and with that "Miracle Pill of the Century", turmeric
curcumin, I told you about there's still no way in h%$# I'm going to live that long.
China has the 4th largest land mass behind Russia, Canada and the United States.
*My niece, Holly who I've talked a lot about (she's not my favorite niece, but just
one of my favorites and she spends most of her time on Facebook) spent several
years in China teaching English to Chinese students and still retains much of the
language of the Chinese people.

*"Yesterday I typed that the Farmer's Almanac has a section stating "5 easy ways
to turn on your Fountain of Youth." So far I've covered the importance of drinking
enough water (1) and getting enough exercise (2).
Number 3 concerns getting enough sleep.
The article suggests getting about 8 hours sleep and getting enough sleep boosts
your brain and immune system. It also prevents premature aging, "rejuvenates
energy and vitality, promotes natural hormone replenishing and function (which
slows down aging) and helps prevent unwanted weight gain."
I did not get enough sleep after my heart stopped in 1998. I was only getting
about 5 hours of sleep more or less and that lasted for about 16 years. In 2015,
I was placed on the 5th floor of the Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital
where I received two new prescription medications called Depakote and
Quetiapine. I don't know what the Depakote does for me, but I know that the
Quetiapine helps me sleep. Actually if I'm still awake a while after taking this
drug I become "drunker than a monkey."
And I told you all this before, I was placed on that 5th floor because I'm over-
friendly and not what everyone thinks: "crazy as hell." They usually keep
people on the 5th floor for 2 or 3 days, but they kept me for two weeks and I
heard later on that they wanted to keep me longer. They just could not figure
out that I'm over friendly and not manic and/or bipolar.

*There are a a lot sad college football fans in this state (Ohio) today. Their favorite
team, the Ohio State Buckeyes lost to the Clemson Tigers in the Fiesta Bowl, 31-0.
"The Alabama Crimson Tide played the Washington Huskies in the Peach Bowl and
won 24-7.
In both games, 31 points were scored and if you took the 7 points that Washington
scored and gave it to Alabama, the scores would have been identical. Why did I
even say this? Beats me. Probably just the thoughts of a wandering mind.
The championship game will pit Alabama against Clemson (on January 9). The
game will be a rematch of the 2016 College Football Playoff National
Championship which saw Alabama defeat Clemson 45-40."
Both games yesterday were certainly boring because of the lop-sided scores.
If last years game between the same teams (the score was 45-40) is any
indication of excitement, I will surely enjoy this championship game.
POLITICS
*President-elect Donald Trump says to deliver important documents by courier to
avoid cyber attacks.
*Trump is considering his senior adviser Kellyanne Conway's husband, George
Conway, to be his U. S. solicitor general.
I do not remember a wife/husband team in high levels of government during my
life time and a search on the internet did nothing to disprove what I just said.
*The President-elect is celebrating New Years at his resort, Mar-a-Lago, in Palm
Beach, Florida. He was asked what his New Years resolution was, he said 'Make
America great again." Hundreds of guests have been invited including Hollywood
actor Sylvester Stallone accompanied by his wife, Jennifer Flavin.
*Trump said that "no computer is safe" when dealing with classified and/or
important documents.
MY OPINION
Russia has become the superpower of the world in the last ten years. But I believe
Russia's claim to this will start to end when President-elect Donald Trump takes
office on January 20, 2017.
WEATHER
Weather for Smithville, Ohio
Today SUNNY 40° 28°
Mon CLOUDY 45° 42°
Tue RAIN 49° 26°
Wed CLOUDY 26° 13°
The Weather Channel - Weather Underground - AccuWeather
I'm still wearing shorts when I go outdoors, but I don't go barefooted. I have to
dress very warmly from belly-button up but not down and I don't know the reason
for that? Maybe it's because I've stood up almost all my life like standing at this
computer on top of my dresser and typing this story of today. I get a lot of leg
exercise by doing this.
Went outside (8:25 AM 1/1/2017 EDT) to check on the weather. The temperature
is 26°, the humidity is 78%, the wind is silent, the sun is shinning brightly and
there's a frost on the ground that came during the night.
Talking about sunshine, there's only 66 days of sunshine in Cleveland, Ohio
which is just north of here and the city I spent 1/2 the winter in, Las Vegas,
Nevada, it shines 210 days a year. Don't seem quite fair to me.
My sandwich of this morning (9:08 AM 1/1/2017 EDT) is not my usual and not
the best my health. We had leftovers from a night ago which was scrambled
eggs and Turkey Spam. I know the eggs are healthy, but I don't what part of
the turkey the spam came from?
I'm making (10:57 AM 1/1/2017 EDT) my 2nd sandwich but 1st fish sandwich of
the day. King Oscar wild caught double-layer and packed in Poland.
I went to Walmart yesterday thinking I would buy some mussels smoked in oil
that I like so well, but they were sold out, so I bought all they had of the King
Oscar and now they're sold out of that. I figured I'm going to have to go to a
different Walmart (Wadsworth or Massillon, Ohio being the closest) to get the
two I just mentioned because I thinking that I'm the one responsible for those
being sold out.
