STORIES OF MY LIFE AND TOLD IN ONE DAY....

As the years have gone by, I've gone bass ackwards so to speak. I guess what I

really mean is that things have changed that I didn't think would ever happen:

1.   I've grown shorter from 6 feet and a 1/2 inch to a little under 6 feet. I know

now that Newton's Law of Gravity had something to do with that. If I cared about

it I'd have a shoemaker nail a 1 inch or more sole to the bottom of my shoes.

But I don't care about it. I'm not vain.

2.   I've always been right-handed. At the last of Army basic training we had to

qualify on the M-16 rifle. I could not see the target looking through the sights

right-handed. The drill sergeant said to try from the left side. I qualified. It's

called cross-dominance. My Uncle Paul advised me to switch-hit which meant

batting right-handed when you faced a left-handed pitcher and batting left-

handed when you faced a right-handed pitcher. I did not take his advise. I

should have because I believe it would have added to my poor batting average.

3.   I have hair that's black, brown and grey growing in places where it didn't

grow before and in some places it has disappeared forever. I'm assuming the

hair in the top part of the crack of my butt is gone. I had two pilonidal cysts

in 1970, 1971 because of ingrown hairs and I have not had that operation since.

3.   I didn't notice it before, but some of body parts are different than they once

were. My hands and feet are a little bit fatter and my stomach is fatter, but that's

because I eat too much. I have cuticles on all fingers and toes that I have to cut

out every few days or so. A dermatologist in Las Vegas said that it might be a

result of a prescription medication I'm taking. Like I told you yesterday when I

was describing my head and face, one eye is pointing north and the other is

pointing south. It looks like my belly button has shifted to left a little but I ain't

quite sure because I do not have a measuring device nearby.

4.   I know I've told you this before but I'll tell you again in case you've forgotten.

I have a difficult time wiping my butt with my right arm and hand and I have

recently discovered that my left arm and hand works a whole lot better.

If I discover anything else that may change before I'm deceased, I'll let you know.

longer than that (74), but the U.S. life expectancy is around 78 so I have at least

four years to go before I reach this age because this is where I live.

SPORTS

*If I bet a dime I would have lost a dime on the first game of the professional

football game playoffs.

My predictions were Green Bay Packers 28, Atlanta Falcons 24.

The score: Falcons 44, Packers 21.

In the second game my prediction was New England Patriots 35, Pittsburgh

Steelers 21.

The score: Patriots 36, Steelers 17.

Pretty durn close on the second game.

As a result of these wins, the Patriots will play the Falcons in the Super Bowl for

the professional football championship.

The 51st (LI) Super Bowl will be played in the NRG Energy Stadium in Houston,

Texas on Sunday, February 5 at 6:30 EST. The game can be seen on Fox and
