YESTERDAY AND TODAY
**YESTERDAY. After publishing 2 blogs, 1 a postcrossing about someone I
received a picture postcard from who lives in Finland, I made phone calls to
Medicare to resolve a billing issue and then Wells Fargo with a question about
refinancing our house and property.
I later drove to Orrville to Rite Aid to pickup 3 prescription medications
prescribed by Dr. Steiner at the Wooster Eye Center. They were drops I need to
start dropping into my left eye, 4 times a day starting 3 days before surgery to
remove the cataract in my left eye. He will also place a stent in my left eye
which will help with the pressure that is caused by glaucoma.
I spent much of the rest of the day in the house taking a nap which is unusual for
me and working on my computer.
I later drove back to Orrville to Taco Bell and China Buffet for takeout and back
to the house, prepared and ate my salad while watching 'Law and Order' on TV,
then my prayer and to bed.
**TODAY. After publishing my daily blog, I hope to have time to go outdoors to
sow the remainder of the grass seed and plant some flower bulbs. I also need to
work on filling the cracks and crevices on the back enclosed porch with wood
filler. I've already filled much of them and need to sand those areas level to the
original.
We also need to clear out places in the basement where Wade's Plumbing is to
start work on Monday to redirect the grey water running into the ditch along
Smucker Road to the sewer system just south of the house.
I'll just wait and see what the rest of the day brings.
I HAVE SOMETHING ON MY MIND
**The weather forecast calls for high and low temperatures of 80°and 58° with
partly cloudy skies and with similiar temperatures through next Saturday, with
rain on Monday and Wednesday.
I know with age that health is one of the main topics of conversation, but
weather is one of the main topics, also, especially if you are a stranger to each
other and must come up with something to talk about.
I've experienced both very cold and very hot weather. From a windchill of 45°
below zero in Omaha, Nebraska and South Korea to 3 digit temperatures above
zero in South Korea, Virginia, Texas, Nebraska and here (Ohio) several years
ago.
I spent some time in Las Vegas recently, but I didn't stay long enough to enjoy
the sometimes 120° temperatures during the summer.
I've talked to thousands of people during my lifetime and most prefer around 75°
temperatures.
I've always liked warm/hot weather. I was hoping for at least several days of
3 digit temperatures in this part of the world (northeastern Ohio), but nothing
yet. In very hot weather it takes me several days to get acclimated, preventing
myself from getting dehydrated by ingesting plenty of salt and Powerade, water,
etc.

Indian summer
"Indian summer is a period of unseasonably warm, dry weather that sometimes
occurs in autumn in the Northern Hemisphere."
You know something? I would just like to see at least once in my lifetime, Indian
summer sticking around until late April of next year.
