I HAVE SOMETHING ON MY MIND
**Since I went to Dr. Shane Clark's office yesterday for a head-to-toe body
scan, I want to devote this article to my visit. As some of you know, I'm
friendly, speaking to everyone no matter their race or nationality. Some people
believe I'm too friendly and because of that they label me as bipolar or manic.
As I entered the door to Dr. Clark's office, I was greeted by Laura who is the
receptionist among other things. There is a sad love song sung by Ray Peterson
and Ricky Valance, 'Tell Laura I Love Her' (RCA 1960). Was she named after this
song. I didn't asked. She was quite busy and I didn't want to intrude with my
friendliness any further.
After I checked in, I set down to do some paperwork. Do you ever hear of
President Reagan's Paperwork Reduction Act? Well, forget it. It was repealed,
but President Jimmy Carter signed another paperwork reduction act on December
11, 1980. That was a lot of work for nothing. We're still using tons of paperwork
and cutting down tons of trees.
After I completed my paperwork and waiting a short time, Page came from the
patient offices and said Randolph. I told her I go by Forrest and not Gump, not
being rude in what I said. After entering one of the patient offices, she first of
course, she asked questions pertaining to my history of skin conditions, my
pharmacy and some other things I don't remember for right now. I do not have
a photographic memory, so please be patient. I almost always ask people who
they are named after as I ask to Page. She said that he was named after Page
County in Virginia just across the Blue Ridge from where I was born and raised. I
worked both as a social worker and a 5th grade teacher in Page County around
1970. I didn't ask her how she spelled her name, it might have been Paige and I
might be making all this up. God and I are the only ones who know for sure.
Then Dr. Shane Clark came in and shook my hand and got on with his full scan of
my body. During this time, I asked him if his name Shane was because of a
western movie called Shane. I don't believe I received a yes or no answer, but
I'll tell you this, I named my oldest son, Michael Shane, he doesn't really like the
name Shane, but he didn't have any choice to make a decision because he was
just born and couldn't make a decision and I was.
My head-to-toe examination was the best I've ever had. Dr. Clark found about 7
places that were pre-cancer Basal Cell Carcinoma, on my forehead, right temple
and both arms. He handed to me some literature related to skin cancer
appearances and advice on how to conduct a self examination.
We shook hands again and I left the office going to the checkout where I met up
with Jesse James. It looks like everywhere I go there is an all women staff. I
know the reason, women are multi-taskers and men are not.
Jesse wasn't a man, but a friendly woman. I didn't ask her if Jesse James was
her long dead relative and thought back about that as I left the building. I did
remember asking Jesse if she liked my rose colored glasses and she said yes. I
told her about the country called 'Rose Colored Glasses,' sang by John Conlee,
but she being so young she didn't know about it.
So along with this story I'll upload the song.
I'm going to write a review on their web site and hopefully copy and paste for
you to see. You're not going to see anything now because I'm not finished and
no one gets up at 3:10 AM 11/14/2017 ET, but me.

To those that I've missed, I'm sorry. That's another song. 'I'm Sorry' by Brenda
Lee.
Thanks to everyone.
