WHAT'S ON MY MIND TODAY

**I often see older people much like myself who look forlorn and downtrodden.

I'm always smiling and don't worry about things that have not come to past.

I don't understand, for the most part, why they look so despondent? Is it

because they were treated badly in childhood and now have no self respect or

dignity? Is it because of a demanding spouse who they may be in fear of?

Maybe their mate has died and are disconsolate, because of that. Maybe they

have a ailment or malady that causes constant pain that causes them to look so

downhearted? Or maybe their religion prevents them from talking to anyone but

their own kind and are miserable because of that?

I can usually tell because of my observances of people during my long life who

might be happy or unhappy. Most of those dispirited, strangers to me, have

heads bowed, seem lost, are crestfallen and mournful as they walk.

I'm always happy and grateful for that, always smiling and greeting strangers

with delight.

I have seen too many of these dejected older people to be of much help, but I

could ask God to make them much like me, that might help?
