WHAT'S ON MY MIND TODAY

**One of my quotes for today was, *Being a "black sheep" of the family means

that you, and being your own fault, are always estranged from your family. For

those of you who don't know, my Uncle Paul was the "black sheep" of the

Caricofe family. He was the last born son to my grandmother Caricofe, my

absentee grandfather Caricofe coming only around once in a great while to make

a baby.

Uncle Paul was a very good baseball player, playing for the Harrisonburg Turks in

Harrisonburg, Virginia. I played baseball, too, but never as good as my Uncle

Paul.

We were both rebellious toward authority, not liking it when someone tried to

intimidate and/or tried to make us obey when we felt it was not the right thing

to do.

Both of us drank to quell our imperfections, I quit drinking at age 45, some 30

years ago, while my Uncle Paul never quit and died at about age 63 just before

the turn of the century in 1999 from cirrhosis of the liver.

Am I my Uncle Paul?
