WHAT'S ON MY MIND TODAY

**I was just thinking this morning about what I've eaten for breakfast for years

and years. I eat tipilia, salmon, a sardine, salmon, oyster, mussels, baby squid

or another type of fish sandwich with spicy mustard between 2 slices of 100 %

whole wheat bread.

I use to eat a variety of fruits and vegetables along with my usual fish for

breakfast, but now, for the most part, I eat fruits and vegetables along with fish

or beans with a good portion of beacon thrown into the pot in the evening. You

know the old saying about beans "beans, beans, good for your heart, the more

you eat, the more you like them."

My Mother use to fix hominy and puddin, ponhaus (scrapple is the yankee term)

and fried eggs over easy and maybe just cereal, my memory of some of these

things forgotten. But I do know that Mother gave us a spoonful of cod liver oil

and we used oleo instead of butter, oleo being a lot cheaper.

"Hominy is a food produced from dried maize kernels that have been treated

with an alkali, in a process called nixtamalization." Wikipedia.

So, what I'm going to do is to try those breakfasts of old, to my way of

thinking, that I enjoyed so much in my youth.
