*"Lisa Marie Presley sues business manager after her $100m Elvis inheritance

reduced to $14,000.

Lisa Marie Presley is suing her former business manager for the loss of almost all

her $100 million inheritance – accusing him of “reckless and negligent

mismanagement” and claiming she has only $14,000 left.

The only child of Elvis and Priscilla Presley, she inherited his entire estate on her

25th birthday, in 1993.

Elvis’s fortune had dwindled to only a few million dollars at the time of his death

in 1977, but the power of the Presley brand – including the tourist attraction

Graceland – meant assets were built back up into the $100m trust.

Yet 25 years later Presley, now 50 and a singer in her own right, claims she has

been left with almost nothing thanks to the actions of Barry Siegel. She accused

him, in a law suit filed in Los Angeles this week, of dissipating her wealth

“through his reckless and negligent mismanagement and self serving-

ambition”." Harriet Alexander, New York. 23 FEBRUARY 2018 • 8:24 PM.

*"A fourth grader reviews the Amazon Alexa Echo Dot and Google Home Mini.

After spending a little over a week with these machines I now want a smart

speaker. I would want to use a machine to have fun with, play baseball trivia,

help me with my homework, or listen to music on because music helps me calm

down before going to sleep and is nicer to wake up to than my dad yelling at me

to get ready for the 7AM bus to school. They both have their good qualities and

bad ones, but both machines are efficient. I already miss their presence in my

room."

*"Australians turn in 57,000 guns in national amnesty. The three-month

amnesty was the first since Australia's landmark response to a mass shooting in

1996.

It aimed to reduce the number of illicit weapons by allowing people to hand them

over without fear of prosecution.

The government said the amnesty deal had made the nation safer."

*"HEAT WAVE. It’s above freezing at the North Pole. Temperatures in the North

Pole soared above freezing this week to a balmy 35°F (2°C).

To understand how unusual it is for polar temperatures to climb that high,

consider Cape Morris Jesup, about 400 miles south of the pole.

Located within the Arctic Circle on the northern tip of Greenland, it’s the world’s

northernmost weather station. As Robert Rhode, a physicist at Berkeley Earth

pointed out on Twitter, so far this year, meteorologists have recorded 61 hours of

above-freezing temperatures at Cape Morris Jesup. (The previous record was 16

hours by the end of April, set in 2011.)"

*"Kristen Wiig Being Lassoed For Villain Role On ‘Wonder Woman 2.’"

By Mike Fleming Jr. February 28, 2018, 4:45 pm.

http://deadline.com/2018/02/kristen-wiig-wonder-woman.

"EXCLUSIVE: The hot name for the villainess role in Wonder Woman 2 is Kristen

Wiig. Word is that Warner Bros and DC are in talks with Wiig to play the role of

Cheetah. The pic, which has Gal Gadot back and director Patty Jenkins, is set in

the 80s in the Cold War. Sounds like this will happen quickly, and a symbol of

female empowerment gets a sequel where both main characters are women."

*"Walmart Joins Dick's Sporting Goods In Tighter Limits On Gun Sales. Walmart

and Dick's Sporting Goods say they won't sell guns to customers under 21, and

both are putting new restrictions on ammunition sales."

*"This American scientist has seen North Korea’s nuclear program up close. How

advanced is North Korea's nuclear weapons program? Just ask the few Western

experts who have seen glimpses of the program and its evolution, like nuclear

scientist Sig Hecker, who has visited seven times and given eye-opening access

to their facilities. Science correspondent Miles O’Brien reports on how experts try

to access the North’s capabilities."

*"Past Iran President Ahmadinejad Blasts Iran's Mullahs. In a stunning

turnabout with broad potential implications for Iran's religious-based

government, former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has launched an

unprecedented drumbeat of thinly veiled criticisms targeting the nation's

"supreme leader," the cleric Ayatollah Khamenei – a figure previously considered

all but invulnerable to political criticism.

Amidst the backdrop of simmering tension on the streets of Iran, former

President Ahmadinejad, who held Iran's presidency from 2005 to 2013, has been

lashing out in recent weeks at the regime's handling of the protests."
